December: Scrimmage Time!

Hey Everyone,

This is Coach Jenny chiming in. We have had a busy November and December, making tons of progress in a short amount of time. We had a chance to reach out to Rico Delsesto, Assistant Professor of Physical Science/Chemistry at Dixie State University. He helped us find some answers to our questions about safety gloves in the water.  We look forward to sharing what we learned with the Search and Rescue soon.

We had a breakthrough on our programming when we found this video about how to program with the gyro to make your robot go in a straight line.

This is us designing our t-shirts in photoshop.

Working on more programming and testing our program.

And here we are the day of the scrimmage. Scrimmages are fun because they are a low stress way to experience what it will be like at the competition.

This is us in the practice tables room. We were across from the Savage Squirrels for this practice round. We learned a lot from watching other teams in the competition and the practice rooms. So many good ideas around!

Our gyro sensor program lead us to success in the first and third rounds, but during the second round something went haywire, and we had a very low scoring round.

We took fifth place overall, and were very pleased with our success. We are excited to keep working on our programming for the competition in January. We ordered our shirts today, so we look forward to getting them before we compete.
